About Us

Elbert County Fire Department in Elberton, Georgia proudly protects 15,000 people living in an area of 370 square miles while operating 12 stations with an ISO rating of 4 – Water Haul.  The department is made up of four full time personnel and approximately 112 firefighters who through their hard work and dedication, risk their lives to protect life and property.  Water is supplied in the outlying areas by 68 dry hydrants as well as boat ramp suction sources on Lake Russell and Strom Thurmond Lake.  Pressurized hydrants can be found in the cites of Bowman and Elberton as well as extending into some areas of Elbert County.
